Pickering Trout Lake – Fun Fishing in North Yorkshire

Situated in the centre of the market town of Pickering at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Pickering Trout Lake is an established one acre game fishery adjacent to the North York Moors steam railway.

The fishery is primarily geared toward the first time or novice fisher but does also cater for the more experienced visitor. It is an ideal place for children to learn to fish.  We can provide good quality tackle with bait, infact everything that you need.  If you're on holiday we can keep the fish for you in our freezers or fridges until the end of your stay.  There is a cafe selling sweets and drinks.

The lake is nominally split into two areas, one end for bait fishing and the other for those fly fishing.

A short walk from the town centre there is ample parking on site for those arriving by car.

Pickering hosts a war weekend every October, we have a campsite for tents, caravans and campers which is used for this week only.

We also use green heating for our building with a pellet boiler.  This has resulted in us now selling Balcas Brites wood pellets in the local Ryedale area.
